We are leaving in 3 days. Three.
When did that happen?
May 24 has always seemed so far away: 6 months...2 months...5 weeks. Now it's only 72 hours out and my to-do list is still several bullet points deep.
I think there is a small piece of me that still hasn't realized I'm going to Kenya. My nerves have yet to surface. I don't know when I'll reach the point of wondering "what the heck am I doing?" but I know it will happen. Prayers appreciated for when it does. ;)
We fly out at 1:30 on Thursday afternoon. We fly KC to Dallas, Dallas to London, and London to Nairobi. We will land in Nairobi (capital of Kenya) late on Friday night and will stay there for a few days before we travel up to Nyeri and the CYEC.
Someone from the CYEC will meet us in Nairobi on Saturday morning and will stay with us/show us around while we adjust to the new environment and recover from jet lag.
I ask for your prayers over our time in Nairobi. It is a large city with a population surpassing 3 million people. Recently, it has been the target of several bombings and grenade attacks. We have been given several safety instructions for our time in the city. We will be cautious, but the rest is out of our hands.
As the 6 month preparation is now coming to a close, I want to thank you all again for your incredible support. Your kind words have blessed me so much. I look forward to sharing this journey with you all.
Stay tuned.
